a Good Father

God has been good to me. And He has never failed me till now. Not a time. Yesterday I read the book of Job. This man is really amazing. Even when he lost ALL he has, he acknowledged that God gives and He can take. Amazing. He does not tie himself with the wealth he had. He recognize even when he lost everything, he is still who he is. Nothing has changed.

So this afternoon, I lost the part time job. And one can look the future to be bleak. However, God in His goodness already gave me a cheque through someone's goodness. I never know the person. Could be an angel from the Lord. And the other day when I gave up certain money, few weeks later, another person gave me a cheque with exactly that amount.

What God is trying to tell me? No worry. Everything is in God's hands. He gives, and he takes. But definitely He always provides. And in such dependance that I need to live on. Not attaching my values and hopes in things of this world. For He is able to provide my needs, certainly 2 cheques from people I don't know....He's been good to me.

The snake and the dove, the lion and the lamb

Was praying for a difficult work and when these truths were reminded again.

That oppositions and difficulties are part of the job.

For it's not an easy path or pain-free road that are taken.

But surely it's a hard and tough way. For no child that is not disciplined by his/her father. And such discipline that brings us good, but more importantly, that we honor our father. The mark of discipline as the mark of sonship. That when we bear that hardship and difficulties ... we should rejoice and take it as affirmation we're his children.

And so like the early disciples on facing the persecutions, they prayed for boldness.

SO Lord, give us heart, as brave as lion, but also as meek as lamb. Let's be as wise as serpents, but also as sincere as doves.
